In the Fall of 2000, a new program in Economics was created. If you began in the College of Arts and Science at NYU before Fall of 2000, the old rules will still apply to you. However, the new program gives you improved opportunities for enhancing your career at NYU. We urge all to take advantage of these opportunities. If you have any questions about the program, your standing, or your career path, please
see the advisor,
Andrew Whitney (Office 837), Assistant to the Director of Undergraduate Studies.
Because the new program provides two concentrations, Theory and Policy, you have the opportunity to choose the more suitable concentration for your personal needs. Examine the discussion on the two concentrations carefully and if in any doubt about which to take see us for advice.
We have specifically designed these two concentrations to facilitate your learning economics and to allow for different learning styles and different potential career paths. In addition, the Department provides joint majors with Mathematics and with Computer Science as well as encouraging co-majors in Stern. These alternatives provide a wide range of opportunities for your academic program.
We urge you to take full advantage of this opportunity to tailor your program to suit your particular learning requirements and ambitions.
Good luck.
